For Instagram business accounts

Moderate Instagram comments by your own rules.

Doorman processes new comments after Meta delivers them. Clear violations can be hidden, while uncertain cases remain available in a review queue.

From a new comment to an explainable decision.

Rules, context, and outcomes stay visibly separate, so your team can see both what happened and what informed the result.

Rules

Define boundaries in plain language

HIDE rules describe unwanted content. EXEMPT rules explicitly preserve allowed exceptions.

Context

Consider the related post

When available, text and media signals from the Instagram post can inform how its comments are classified.

Review

Do not force uncertain calls

Uncertain outcomes enter a queue where your team can decide whether to keep or hide the comment.

Control

Hiding remains reversible

Doorman does not delete comments. Hidden comments can be made visible again through the product.

Three steps, one controllable workflow.

The connection runs through Meta. You define rules and responsibilities; Doorman then routes incoming comments as they arrive.

  1. 01

    Connect an Instagram account

Connect an eligible Instagram business account through Meta. Access can be revoked again from Meta.

  2. 02

    Write and assign rules

Describe boundaries in plain language and choose which connected accounts each rule applies to.

  3. 03

    Route new comments

Incoming comments are checked against active rules and classified as visible, hidden, or needing review.

Automate the decisions that are clear.

Doorman does not replace your community strategy. It reduces repetitive moderation work while keeping decisions inspectable.

What Doorman handles

  • Receive new comments through the Meta integration
  • Check active HIDE and EXEMPT rules
  • Hide clear violations through Meta
  • Place uncertain cases in the review queue

What stays with your team

  • Define rules and exceptions
  • Make the final call on edge cases
  • Restore hidden comments when needed
  • Manage permissions and connected accounts

What to know before connecting.

Does Doorman delete comments?

No. Doorman uses Meta’s visibility controls to hide comments. That action can be reversed.

Does Doorman scan Instagram on a fixed interval?

The primary workflow is event-driven: Doorman processes a new comment after Meta sends it to the webhook. There is no general five-minute promise.

Which Instagram accounts can be connected?

The integration is designed for Instagram business accounts that can grant the required permissions through Meta.

How long is comment content retained?

Comment content is removed after 30 days in the regular retention workflow. Technical and billing records can follow separate retention periods.

Moderation starts with one clear rule.

Connect an account, describe your first boundary, and evaluate the workflow with your own comments.
